As I write Steve Muller of Kombi Rescue and his posse are closing in on Lake Gairdner, South Australia to take part in the 36hp challenge. Also today I went to my first VW gathering for the year – the Melburg Luft Northern Alliance monthly meet – this month in Marrickville. Some nice rides turned up this month including a nice cutom 54 beetle, a sweet low 66 and one of the nicest split panels in Aus. Always heartening to see the dubs get an airing and if you’re reading this in Sydney keep an eye out for the date and location of the next meet at Melburg Luft
